Description: Chalmers & Kubeck, Inc., a family owned and operated business, is a service-oriented company seeking Valve and Actuation Technicians for our Aston, Pennsylvania facility. We are a National Board Valve Repair (VR) facility and are Channel Partners with Baker Hughes (Consolidated Pressure Relief Valves), Flowserve (Limitorque Motor Operated Valve Actuators), and Velan (Line Valves). Chalmers & Kubeck will provide on-the-job training for qualified applicants, but prior experience with line valves, control valves, multi-turn electronic actuators, and relief valves is preferred. A positive attitude, good mechanical aptitude, and teamwork are required.

Responsibilties: Full Time Position: 40 Hours per Week, Monday - Friday

• Day Shift (7:30AM - 4:00PM)
• Night Shift (4:00PM - 12:30AM) with 10% Shift Differential
• Pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Ongoing Random Drug Testing
• Maintain a Clean Driving Record and possess a Valid Driver's License
• Willing to Undergo Criminal Background Checks
• Consistently Wear Required PPE, Fall Protection, and ALWAYS Work in a Safe Manner
• Work Overtime, as needed, to Support Customer Outages and Team Priorities
• Travel is required and can be Significant (>50%) during Spring & Fall with Overnight Stays
• Some Heavy Lifting (up to 50lbs) is required

Education & Experience: High School or Equivalent

Qualifications: Applicants must demonstrate the following capabilities:

• Safety Relief Valve Experience (e.g. Consolidated, Farris, Kunkle or Anderson Greenwood) is preferred; GTC Trained Techs will be given immediate consideration.
• Line Valve Experience with gate, globe, check and ball valves (e.g. Velan, Pratt, etc.) is preferred.
• Multi-Turn MOV Actuator Experience is preferred; Limitorque Trained Technicians will be given immediate consideration.
• Read and Interpret Mechanical Drawings and Technical Manuals (e.g Installation, Operation, & Maintenance)
• Competently Use Shop Tooling such as torches, hydraulic presses, sandblaster, and basic hand tools such as wrenches, impact drivers, etc.
• Rigging – Safely Operate Overhead Cranes, Come-Alongs, and Chain Falls
• Inspection – Reliably Measure Dimensions of mechanical parts using OD/ID micrometers, Vernier calipers, and depth micrometers to within 0.001”, evaluates condition of components against critical dimensions, performs visual inspections, takes supporting photographs, and completes condition reports.
• Assembly – Builds Valves, Actuators, and Positioners with new or reconditioned parts, seals and or packing, repaints as needed.
• Testing – Performs in shop hydrostatic, air, nitrogen, and or steam Testing as needed on valves, strokes line valves in the field to confirm proper operation.
• Documentation - Consistently and Accurately Record findings from Inspections, Assembly, and Testing (including Electronic Valve Testing) on condition reports and uploads data into ValvKeep in a timely manner.

Benefits: Hours over 40 in a Week are at 1.5 x Base Pay Rate
